One of the benefits of being a member of the Craft Bakers Association (CBA) is the reduced rates it offers on a wide range of business-critical training courses, this time on two key industry topics.

The Craft Bakers Association (CBA) has launched Leading Great Shifts and Mental Health Support Champion on its website. The courses are offered at a discounted rate to CBA members and allow them to coordinate training at their own pace for themselves and their employees, along with tracking progress and downloading certificates when successfully completely.

“It’s vital that your team has the skills and information needed to run your business efficiently,” said Karen Dear, CBA’s CEO.

“Whether it’s HR, Health and Food Safety legislation, legal or financial, we know training can be expensive and time-consuming to plan. This is why one of the key benefits of CBA membership is being able to access discounts on a wide range of business critical online and inhouse training courses.”

The easy-to-access courses - run by CPL Learning - focus on leadership priorities and supporting mental health in the workplace.

Leading Great Shifts is designed to provide the knowledge and understanding of how to run a successful shift in a bakery. The course explains the importance of effective shift leadership, offering practical steps and advice on how to implement this into a business.

The course is suitable for all levels and would benefit any bakery team members who lead shifts as part of their role.

Mental Health Support Champion is tailored to promote good mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, an increasingly important topic in bakeries.

On completion of the course, learners will be able to identify members who may be experiencing issues like anxiety and stress; provide effective, early intervention; and signpost sources of support.

By understanding mental health and wellbeing, owners can also develop stronger relationships with their employees, while improving retention levels, morale and productivity. The course is suitable for bakery employees of all levels.

“Discounted online training courses is just one of the many ways we are supporting our members,” said Dear.

“We also provide HR solutions, legal services, health and safety advice, as well as access to the Primary Authority, which is a unique service that provides CBA members with support if they encounter an enforcing authority inspection.”
