Avery Dennison: thinner labels more sustainable

The launch is due in part to brands making stronger demands for waste reduction and more sustainable products.
Green is not second best
"‘Green’ does not have to mean ‘second best’ if the technology is right,” added Hart.
“This expanded ThinkThin portfolio has been designed with the needs of label converters and brand owners in mind.
“Our priority is giving customers materials that look great and perform well."
The ThinkThin film is available for food labelling applications. They carry Avery Dennison’s S7000 adhesive which allows for high speed production and offers water-whitening resistance and reduced adhesive bleed.
Extended family line
The extended film family now includes PE LG Top as well as the thinner PP 40 Top, both with top coating available in clear and white.
As an example of eco-savings, Hart illustrated the PP40 Top Clear (with S7000 adhesive and a PET23 liner) which uses 46% less energy, generates 30% less solid waste and consumes 39% less fossil material than the conventional PP60/S4000/PET30 material.
The liner is fully recyclable via Avery Dennison’s recycling program, available throughout Europe.
Other films include the MC70 paper facestock and Thermal Thin 200LD.
