The East London, UK, micro bakery has opened a second site to accommodate a growing demand for ‘simple, honest and no fuss’ baked goods.

The Clapham bakery specialises in artisan sourdough bread, using the slow 24-hour fermentation process, which means it can only produce a finite number of goods. However, since opening in 2016, it has built a reputation of providing best in class.

Each loaf and handmade pastry is made with natural ingredients without additives, baked fresh daily.

The next step

Now, that love of quality is being expanded to more Londoners, with a second bakery in Stratford.

“After the increasing success of our small microbakery in Clapton and the support of all our customers, we thought it was the perfect moment to take the next step and spread our delicious croissants and sourdough bread further East, in Stratford,” said owner and head baker Daniel Burke.

Located in front of the Velodrome, the new bakery is a light-flooded relaxed space with rustic elements, inspiring quotes and earthy tones, welcoming both pop-ins and those who need a space to work.

Shoppers can choose from several loafs, including the Clapton Sourdough (white), the Charles Wholemeal Sourdough, the Multigrain Wholemeal Sourdough, as well as focaccia and sandwiches. Sweet lovers can delve into an impressive selection of handmade pastries and vegans, too, are not forgotten, with vegan Danish and vegan doughnuts on offer.

Championing its East London’s origin, the bakery also stocks deli items like Hackney Garden honey, I Am Nut vegan cheese and Dalston Chillies chilli sauces.
