This prestigious annual award, which is spear-headed by FoodNavigator sister publication NutraIngredients, celebrates the outstanding achievements of those in the nutrition and dietary supplements industry.
“Returning in its eighth year, the European NutraIngredients Awards will recognise once again the commitment to science and innovation as the nutrition industry works through new pressures to improve people’s health,” explained Ewa Hudson, Director of Insights at Lumina Intelligence and chair of the judging panel for the second year running.
“Judges will spare no effort to find those who truly empower consumers to care for themselves and their loved ones, as both physical and mental health needs have been challenged beyond imagination.”
There are 17 categories to enter in 2022, which include Ingredient of the Year and Product of the Year, as well as several Specialty Awards.
So, what are the judges looking for?
Hudson elaborated: “We want to hear of the investment in research, successful product developments and will reward the best applicants… We would like to welcome new innovators with the best ingredients, products and research projects and also to invite participation of women-led start-ups.”
The 2022 categories
The categories chosen by the NutraIngredients team reflect the evolving shape of the health and nutrition space, with new segments including women’s health added to this year’s line-up.
“With a rise in products and ingredients dedicated to women’s health – tackling issues such as fertility, pregnancy, menstruation and menopause – we’ve introduced a new award category, Innovations in Women's Health Award,” Hudson noted.
This year’s Editor's Award, which is decided by NutraIngredients editors, will celebrate the best in functional food innovations and is open to new and innovative finished products in addition to ingredients and delivery systems that are able to demonstrate novel delivery systems or examples of innovative use in finished products.
