Doves Farm aims for excitement in the kitchen with organic speciality flours
Doves' new range includes an organic Oat, Coconut, Chickpea, Quinoa, Teff and Brown Rice flour. All are organic, vegan, Kosher and gluten free, with multiple products offering a source of, or high in, fibre and protein.
According to Kantar Worldpanel data for the 52 weeks ending 21 Feb 2021, organic flours have seen a booming growth – of 84.2% - from the year prior. While this is particularly attributed to the lockdown baking boom that took flight to break boredom, this was driven by increasing demand for products that are made from sustainably grown ingredients.
The market researcher also reported a 48.7% growth of speciality flours as home bakers moved into new realms to push the bar in texture, taste and nutritional content.
Subsequently, reports Doves, interest in its new range has been strong. In fact, a survey of over 400 home bakers by Doves earlier this year found that almost half said they were interested in buying oat flour.
“After the baking boom of last year, we are seeing an increase in demand for flours that offer new tastes and textures, as well as health and environmental benefits,” said Clare Marriage, Doves Farm founder.
“Our new Organic Speciality Flour range, which includes an Oat Flour, Coconut Flour, Quinoa Flour and more, is intended to appeal to more adventurous home bakers and offers them delicious speciality flours that can be used in a variety of bakes.”
