The On the Border and Boulder Canyon maker is celebrating its centennial milestone by inviting consumers to join its Centennial Club for exclusive deals, discounts and swag.

The Utz story began like many other snack startups that have gone on to major climes – in a small-town kitchen.

It was 1921 in Hanover, Pennsylvania, and Bill and Salie Utz believed their potato chips – made from clean and simple ingredients to bring out the nature flavour of farm-fresh potatoes – would resonate with consumers. How right they were.

Fast forward 100 years, and while Utz’s focus remains the same, it operate 15 manufacturing facilities across the US producing brands like One the Border, Golden Flake, Zapp’s, Good Health, Boulder Canyon, Hawaiian and Tortiyahs!. Its bulging portfolio of snacks are sold online and through all the leading outlets across the nation.

In 2020, the company went public, following a merger with investment company Collier Creek Holdings, with a projected $1.56bn enterprise value.

Unique position

“100 years is a tremendous achievement for any business and Utz is in a unique position to continue exciting brand fans and making new ones, too,” said Bill Blubaugh, senior VP, Marketing & Communications, Utz Brands, Inc.

“And this year, we’re excited to celebrate our centennial anniversary with sweepstakes, promotions and much more!”

The snacks major is inviting consumers to celebrate its birthday by visiting its Blow Out The Candles sweepstakes. Entrants will also have a chance to join the Utz Centennial Club and receive exclusive insight into new releases, promotions, discounts, limited edition gear and more.

The sweepstake closes on 16 July and is open to US residents 18-years and older.
