The two phenoms will also be rolling out limited edition Lady Gaga-themed Oreo cookies inspired by Chromatica, the American singer’s sixth studio album released in May by Streamline and Interscope Records.
The album is named after an imaginary, dystopian planet where equality rules, and covers themes of mental health, trauma, self-worth and finding love through hardship. It features guest vocals from Blackpink, Ariana Grande and Elton John.
Taking design cues from the album, the Lady Gag-themed Oregos will feature pink-coloured Golden Oreo’s with a green coloured crème and embossed with three Chromatica-inspired designs.
“This collab is inspired by the world of Chromatica, where kindness rules all things,” said Lady Gaga. “I love these pink cookies with green creme, and hope they brighten your day as much as they do mine.”
Oreo fans will have to stay tuned for the official release date of the full-size pack, but rolling out in January for a limited time only while supplies last, the cookies will be available in 6-cookie packs at convenience stores across the US.
Between 14 December and 30 April 2020, the collab is also releasing ‘Sing It With Oreo’ and encouraging fans to send uplifting OREOgrams to loved ones for the chance to win an assortment of Oreo and Lady Gaga swag and experiences.
Fans can create their own OREOgram by recording a message that, using Oreo technology, will be instantly transformed into a playful song to share with friends, family and on social media. They will also be able to access OREOgrams recorded by Lady Gaga to show support, share affirmations or send congratulatory messages.
Meet the diva in person
Ten fans will win a 4-day/3-night trip for two to a Lady Gaga concert in a choice of four US cities, while one grand prize winner will receive a flyaway concert experience, a ‘meet and greet’ with Lady Gaga (pending any necessary COVID restrictions) and a personalised OREOgram from the diva.
In addition to the Lady Gaga-themed Oreos, music will also make its way onto select original Oreo cookies with a packaging refresh on shelves in mid-January. Packs will feature an Oreo record player design and will be available for a limited time while supplies last.
“Over the past few years, music has become a key element of our purpose to spread more joy and playfulness in the world through partnerships and entertainment properties alike,” said Justin Parnell, senior director of Oreo.
“We’re absolutely thrilled over our newest collaboration with one of the biggest pop culture icons of a generation.
“Together with Lady Gaga, we cannot wait to unleash her world of Chromatica on our Oreo cookie and encourage fans to spread musical messages of kindness to create a brighter and more connected country.”
