Dina Foods is hosting a UK-wide competition to celebrate National Baklawa Day on 17 November 2020.

The UK handmade Mediterranean foods supplier is inviting customers and consumers to ‘like’ its National Baklawa Day post and include a comment on its Instagram page to win a kilogramme of the treat made of chopped nuts and spices nestled between layers of flaky filo pastry and drizzled with sugar syrup.

The company – established in 1992 by the Haddad family – is known for its signature baklava called ‘The 42’ (along with goodies such as the authentic Mediterranean Khobez). Its handmade Lebanese baklawa range has also been given a few imaginative twists, with options enrobed in chocolate or layered with apricots or cranberries.

“Sweet and crunchy baklawa are traditionally offered to friends and family at times of celebration, and are perfect at afternoon tea, alongside a morning coffee or as a snack at any time of the day,” said Wilda Haddad, Dina Foods’ assistant GM.

“Our indulgent products are made with the finest ingredients and we are looking forward to giving the lucky winner a treat when we award them via social media on National Baklawa Day on 17 November.”

Entries are open to UK residents only and close on 16 November at midnight (CST). The winner will be picked at random and announced on Instagram on 17 November.

The competition is also being promoted across its Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.

Dina Foods’ mixed baklawa range and Filo Delights are available from leading retailers in the UK, including Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Tesco and Home Bargains; and from Tesco in Ireland.
