Brand owner pladis – the snacking company behind the beloved UK McVitie’s brand – is encouraging budding chefs to release their imaginations and conceive a game-changing indulgence using the salty, sweet and crunchy chocolate covered pretzels.

pladis has teamed up with Springboard UK’s Future Chef competition to host the #FlipzBakez National School Baking Competition.

Springboard UK helps people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life to gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to succeed in the hospitality industry. Its FutureChef competition is the largest National School cooking programme in the UK, engaging over 700 schools and 16,000 students.

Open to UK residents between the ages of 11 and 16, #FlipzBakez participants must submit a picture or video and the name of their Flipz-inspired creation online. Only one entry per person will be accepted.

The winner will receive an entrance to a GAME Belong Party of their choice, a platform that allows competitive gamers and social players to experience the latest in VR gaming. Runner up prizes include five Wireless head sets and 10 Flipz snack boxes.

Entries close 27 November and the winners will be announced on 4 December 2020.

“We are delighted to have partnered with Springboard UK for this year’s FutureChef competition, helping to inspire the next generation of talented chefs and continuing to support the hospitality industry during these unprecedented times,” said Scott Snell. VP of sales, UK & Ireland, pladis.

Springboard’s CEO Chris Gamm added, “As we increase FutureChef’s digital offering to support more young people, this fantastic partnership with pladis will provide students across the country with even more incentive to get in the kitchen and be creative.”
