Ahoy high schoolers! Mondelēz invites you an ‘epic’ virtual prom with Steve Aoki
The event comes hot on the heels of the release of limited edition Chips Ahoy Sour Patch Kids Cookies earlier this month.
The Sweetest Prom Ever will take place on Saturday, May 23. It will kick off at 9pm EDT and stream live on cookie and candy brands’ YouTube, Instagram and Twitter channels until 9:45pm EDT.
Behind the funky tunes will be two-time Grammy-nominated producer and DJ Steve Aoki, who is planning an exclusive set for the prom.
Aoki is lauded as one of the top five world’s highest paid DJ's by Forbes and ‘one of the most in-demand entertainers in the world’ by Billboard. He will also stream the event live on his YouTube channel.
Teens are encouraged – but not required – to dress up for this special digital occasion.
Important milestone
“Prom is an important milestone for so many teens, and we know this year looks different for everyone,” said Sabrina Sierant, Chips Ahoy associate director.
“We’re excited for Chip and The Kids to connect students around the country with a little bit of music and some prom magic! Our goal is to inspire everyone to make their own sweet prom memories from the comfort of home.”
The Chip and Kids are taking the experience a step further and will be giving 1,000 students a chance to win exclusive access to experience the virtual party through an interactive viewing platform.
One lucky student will take home the grand prize – an unforgettable prom do-over event for their classmates.
Students aged between 17-20 years can enter the Sweetest Prom Ever Sweepstakes at SweetestPromEver.com by sharing a ‘pomprosal’ on Instagram or Twitter, and follow and mention the brands in their post with the tags #SweetestPromEver and #Sweepstakes.
The deadline to enter is Saturday, May 16 at 11:59 pm ET. Anyone under 18 needs parental consent to enter.
A night to remember
