Fatherson Bakery managing director Laurence Smith said, “As British bakers, we wanted to give something back to our national heroes who are saving lives day in, day out. This is just a little way of all of us at Fatherson Bakery – our artisan bakers, our warehouse & delivery team, our administrative teams and senior staff – to say thank you for doing such a courageous job. So, let’s celebrate the NHS and all keyworkers together!”
The cakes will also be available through the newly-launched www.directdeliver.co.uk. The bakery has launched the site to help ease shopper challenges during COVID-19 and help get food delivered to the most vulnerable people in the community.
The website focuses on offering a select range of award-winning cakes and other foods such as fruit and vegetable boxes and non-perishable essentials. All web orders will be delivered by Fatherson to the shopper’s door ensuring they are affordable, good quality and the assurance that Fatherson has put into place the right health and safety need following the government’s guidelines to protect the shopper and the Fatherson workforce from COVID-19.
