The International Artisan Bakery Expo (IABE) is set to open the doors for its second annual event on March 31, 2020 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre, US.

Co-located alongside the International Pizza Expo, the B2B bakery trade show is designed to give visitors an even closer look at the artisanal sector, which, according to show director Pete Lachapelle, is as vibrant as ever.

“The IABE has found a unique position as the only annual show for retail and artisan bakers. Even more so, we’re the only international bakery show in the year 2020,” said Lachapelle, who is also VP of Food Group for emerald Expositions, the trade show and conference producer of IABE.

“There’s a tremendous need for an annual meeting to provide artisan bakers the ability to research the latest ingredient, equipment and technical developments and we’re proud to fill that need.”

Crowd-pullers

Around 80 exhibitors will showcase their innovations during the three-day event, specifically aimed at artisan bakers offering fresh, unpackaged products sold through speciality retail bakeries, instore bakery, bakery cafes and other foodservice operations.

To curate a premier educational component, the IABE has partnered with associations like the Bread Bakers Guild of America (BBGA) to design more than 30 seminars and demonstrations, ranging from Extreme Donuts, to Brushing Up Your Bread Shaping, Home Baking Business & The Cottage Law and Social Media Boot Camp, among many others.

Glenn Cybulski’s talk on Baking with Cannabis is expected to be a crowd-puller.

Bakery attendees will also be given complimentary access to attend the 70+ pizza‐related demonstrations, educational seminars and networking events related to the Pizza Expo.

Two keynote addresses – taking place the first two mornings of the event – will be delivered by international pizza consultant Anthony Falco and James Beard Award bakers Ken Forkish.

“There isn’t another niche in the foodservice industry as exciting as the artisan baking community. Finally, after more than a decade of YouTube being the best place to learn, artisan bakery entrepreneurs have a trade show of their own,” added Lachapelle.
