The global bakery manufacturer and ingredients supplier has launched a yearlong celebration with a Thank You to Bakers Campaign, which shows appreciation for the hard work the baking community puts in each day.

The 100-year old company is also calling on bakers to use the hashtag #DonutsForGoodEntry to highlight the positive deeds they do in their local communities.

Participating customers will be entered into a raffle to win a $5,000 donation in their name to a charitable organisation of their choice. Dawn will raffle 10 donations, valued at $50,000.

The raffle is open to Dawn customers between February 1 and April 20, 2020.

Entrants must share the details of the charitable work they do within their local communities, along with a photo, on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) using the hashtag #DonutsForGoodEntry.

Bakers can also submit entries on the company’s website. Only one entry per customer will be accepted.

Winners will be announced on National Donut Day (June 5).

The charity organisation of their choice must be a 501(c)3 organisation – that is, a US nonprofit that has been approved for tax-exempt purposes.

“We want to celebrate our 100 years of growth and accomplishments by recognising those who have made our success possible – the bakers who bring joy every day to their customers and communities around the world,” said Carrie Jones-Barber, CEO of Dawn Foods.

“As we look back at the legacy we’ve created, in partnership with our customers, we’ve grown from a small family business to nearly 5,000 team members.

“We have a promising year ahead and this campaign sets the tone for our yearlong appreciation to bakers.”

Thank you!

Dawn’s Thank You programme will also feature its customers stories on the company’s social channels, website and in advertisements throughout 2020.

The company is hosting an anniversary party on June 3 at its headquarters in Jackson, Mississippi, and is currently working with customers to create new offerings this year.

“Our Thank You to Bakers programme exemplifies the values that have built Dawn into the business it is today,” said Miles Jones, chairman of the Board for Dawn Foods.

“My family has had the pleasure of being a part of Dawn for 65 of its 100 years. While many things have changed throughout this past century – from our digital transformation to our technical expertise and numerous product innovations – one thing remains the same: a relentless commitment to our bakers’ success.”
