Mantrose-Haeuser – a subsidiary of RPM International – has acquired Profile Food Ingredients, a manufacturer of dry stabilizer and emulsifier blends for the food industry for an undisclosed amount.

Illinois-based Profile Food Ingredients has annual net sales of approximately $25m of its wide range of specialty product formulations designed to enhance texture, thicken, prevent separation and extend shelf life. The products – which are clean label, non-GMO and organic – can be used in baked goods, confections, dairy products, beverages and nutraceuticals.

Its bakery line ranges from hydrocolloid blends for the control of water activity to complete systems like cake mixes and pancake blends. It also offers ingredient systems for gluten free applications and egg replacers, as well as special trans fat free icing and frosting systems.

“Profile Food Ingredients is a strong synergistic fit with our Mantrose-Haeuser business and its Holton Food Products subsidiary, which will enable us to accelerate both top- and bottom-line growth of the companies,” said Frank C. Sullivan, RPM chairman and CEO.

Mantrose-Haeuser manufactures edible coatings, stabilisers and specialty ingredients, while Holton Food Products supplies specialty stabilisers and meringue systems to the bakery industry.

“This acquisition presents significant opportunities to leverage the combined sales forces of the entities, expand sales of specialty ingredients to the food industry and broaden our reach in international markets,” added Sullivan.

RPM owns a range of subsidiaries creating specialty coatings, sealants, building materials and related services. It is the fifth largest paint and coating company in the world, employing 15,000 employees worldwide who work in 156 manufacturing facilities in 26 countries.
