Puratos has announced two new appointments for its North American management team to support its growing customer base in the region.

The bakery ingredients developer said it has been ‘growing significantly’ over the past several years, and ‘North America represents an important growth potential.’

Paul Bakus has been appointed to succeed Karel Zimmermann as market director, reporting to Puratos’ CEO Daniel Malcorps.

Bakus has extensive experience in the food and beverage industry, having spent 30 years at Nestlé, serving as president of the Swiss-based company’s baking division from 2006 to 2010.

Puratos also appointed Andrew Brimacombe as general manager of Puratos USA, reporting to Bakus.

Prior to joining Puratos, Brimacombe oversaw the US consumer foods unit of Aryzta.

Commenting on the new appointments, Malcorps said: “We would like to thank Karel Zimmermann for his great contribution to the development of Puratos North America over the past 20 years.

“The Puratos Group strongly believes the new leadership, together with the strong current team in place, will further strengthen the development of our long-term strategy to support our customers’ and our company’s growth.”
