The product retails at £3.49 for a 180g box of milk chocolate covered almonds, which joins its existing Just Brazils Milk and Just Brazils Dark range.
“Following a year of growth and an increase in demand for the existing range, we are introducing Just Almonds to provide a new offering to consumers,” said Andrew Ovens, marketing manager, Big Bear Confectionery.
According to Euromonitor, ‘Nuts in the UK’ (March 2018), a growing health consciousness and increased snacking will remain the main drivers behind the positive performance of nuts as consumers move away from unhealthy savoury snacks such as potato chips to more nutritious, easy-to-eat foods.
It claims nuts will continue to be known as the ideal food for muscle recovery full of healthy fats, magnesium and fibre.
The consumption of organic nuts is also expected to grow as organic certification, increasingly recognised for its quality and superior flavor, is expected to appeal to younger health-conscious consumers willing to pay a premium.
The nut ingredients market is projected to reach $22m by 2019, at a CAGR of 5.8% from 2014 to 2019, says MarketsandMarkets.
In 2013, the European region accounted for the largest share in the market, followed by North America and Asia-Pacific in terms of value.
In terms of volume, North America dominated the nut ingredients market. The Asia-Pacific region is projected to be the fastest-growing market, with China and India exhibiting strong growth opportunities for nut ingredients.
