The tin, part of its Around London giftware contains 150grams of assorted biscuits and is sold exclusively via home shopping channel QVC.

Kim Winston, travel retail sales manager, Churchill’s Confectionery, said it first met Electropac at an exhibition and was impressed with its creativity and experience within the electronic field.

With the Royal Wedding approaching, we thought the technology would work well for our Around London design.”

It is the first time the plus 25-year-old family business has included musical technology in its packaging.

The tin features an embossed representation of London, including the city’s famous landmarks and plays the National Anthem or Rule Britannia, when you open the lid.

London-based Electropac specialise in the manufacture and application of low cost micro-electronics, adding effects such as sound, light and motion, to create multi-sensory experiences.

Rahul Shah, managing director, Electropac, added in the current digital marketing age, the company is exploring ways to stop consumers in their tracks and inspire them with new packaging experiences.
