The scheme – now in its 15th year – allows the 420 employees based at the company’s head office in Salford to leave early on Fridays, provided they have completed their contracted hours.
According to Sue Platt, UK HR director at Kellogg’s, the initiative has improved productivity.
Research shows people who have a good work-life balance work 21% harder than those who don’t.
“Flexible working is something we take very seriously at Kellogg’s and we encourage all our UK office-based employees to make the most of the summer hours scheme,” said Platt.
“Summer hours is part of a package we offer to ensure we provide work-life balance opportunities to all employees.”
Kellogg’s scheme runs between May and September and is designed to give employees greater flexibility to enjoy a ‘Special weeKend’.
