SIG and ProLeiT to combine their expertise to deliver smarter F&B filling lines

SIG has partnered with ProLeiT, automation and process control systems, to offer producers advanced production technology and integrated software for food, beverage and dairy producers.

ProLeiT’s specialty is Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), so that manufacturers can automate and control their production processes. 

IoT is increasing

The partnership allows both companies to combine their expertise for the joint development of MES products for the food and beverage industry.

Using IoT-enabled systems, data and automation, it is transforming filling plants into intelligent, connected factories to increase OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), flexibility and reduce filling costs. 

Robotic Magazine

For example, SIG has developed a Robotic Magazine (R-CAM) for high speed lines, which can fill up to 24,000 carton packs per hour.

R-CAM consists of a pallet magazine and an unpacking station. The pallet magazine has space for a Euro pallet, industrial pallet or Australian pallet. Once the pallet is inside the magazine, a scanner reads the pallet pattern to detect how the shipping boxes are loaded on the pallet and a gripper arm moves the shipping box to the unpacking station. 

The robotic magazine includes an internal buffer to ensure production can run smoothly even when a new pallet is being loaded into the magazine. It can hold up to 20 shipping boxes of carton sleeves.
