The selected flavors – Pina Colada Oreo Thins, Kettle Corn Oreo and Cherry Cola Oreo - were finalists of the #MyOreoCreation #Contest and will be available in the US only from Spring/Summer.
Mondelēz invited fans to suggest new flavor ideas via text messaging, on its social media platforms or via its MyOreoCreation website from May 8 to July 14 this year.
The company assessed the flavor ideas based on taste appeal (40%), creativity (30%) and originality (30%) to determine three finalists.
The three flavors making the finals will enter the US in May for a limited time, giving fans a chance to vote for their favorite.
The consumer who suggests the winning flavor stands to win $500,000 and a trip to New York City.
The three finalists have already bagged a $25,000 check.
Other returning seasonal flavors will also enter the US in 2018: Peeps Oreo, Oreo Hot & Spicy Cinnamon, Oreo Chocolate Hazelnut and Firework Oreo.
