Kellogg to feature US Olympic and Paralympic athletes on cereal boxes

Kellogg will join Oreo cookie maker Mondelēz in featuring US Olympic and Paralympic athletes on its packaging in the run up to the fast-approaching 2018 Pyeongchang (South Korea) winter games.

Mondelēz previously announced Oreo cookies will be embossed with the US team’s emblem for a limited time from January, 21, according to this site’s sister publication ConfectioneryNews.

“We’re thrilled to welcome this group of accomplished athletes to ‘Team Kellogg’s’,” said Sam Minardi, director of brand marketing at Kellogg.

Kellogg’s limited-edition cereal boxes will include figure skater Nathan Chen, snowboarder Kelly Clark, ice hockey player Meghan Duggan and Paralympic snowboarder Mike Schultz. They will be available at grocery retailers across the US in December 2017. Some of the brands include Corn Flakes, Special K, Frosted Flakes, and Special K Red Berries.

These athletes will also share their stories about how they start each day across social media, said Kellogg.

“As they share their personal motivations while training for the Pyeongchang games, we hope Americans are inspired to focus on their own everyday inspirations as they work toward achieving their potential,” Minardi said.
