It marks the brand’s first brick and mortar listing in the UK, adding to existing distribution at online retailer Ocado.
The children’s snack brand offers three products: Googly Fruit Crunchy Puffs (air puff bites that it calls an alternative to crisps), Googly Fruit Made Crunchy (freeze-dried fruit bites) and Googly Fruit Squeezy Pouches.
“We’d class them as a healthy snacking alternative, replacing crisps, biscuits and sweets,” said a spokesperson for the company.
Googly Fruit branding features specially created children’s characters such as Carl Carrot, Pippa Pumpkin and Bella Blueberry, and the products are made from 100% organic fruit and vegetables.
The puffs retail for a suggested price of £0.75 ($0.97), the pouches for £1 ($1.29) and £1.50 ($1.94) for the fruit crisps.
Company background
Googly Fruit has a registered office in London and is part of Berlin-based Erdbär. The brand was founded in 2012 by Natacha and Alex Neumann and is already sold at major retailers in Germany.
The brand, manufactured in Europe, entered the UK last year.
Erdbär hopes to bring Googly Fruit Snacks to Scandinavia and the US, according to its LinkedIn page.
