Barry Callebaut procures American Almond

Chocolatier Barry Callebaut acquired American Almond two years ago, Patty Kopitas, Barry Callebaut's commercial manager told BakeryandSnacks.

She said Barry Callebaut has a strong footprint in New Jersey and has a R&D center in the region, while American Almond adds to the product portfolio.

“Acquiring American Almond fits well with the bakery category, while pairing chocolate with nuts is particularly popular,”  said Kopitas. “Almonds are becoming even more popular in the two sectors.”
