Pecan Deluxe Candy adds cheesecake bits to its inclusions portfolio

Inclusions supplier Pecan Deluxe Candy has developed cheesecake pieces that can be added in bakery applications, such as brownies, muffins and cookies.

The frozen pieces, supplied in bulk, will also work with products like turnovers or Danish pastries, as well as ice creams, said the inclusions specialist.

According to Liz Jones, Pecan Deluxe Europe R&D director, with attention on sugar reductions and shrinking portions these days, it’s easy to lose sight that the consumer still wants a satisfying food experience.

As such, Jones contends Pecan Deluxe will customize solutions for just about any application or sector.

Food tailor

Jones said the cheesecake pieces contain natural, clean label ingredients and as they are free flowing, even at high volume, can be added to numerous products produced at a small or large scale level.

“We also tailor each order so almost any flavor can be specified, but we expect our fruit flavors, like lemon or raspberry, to be particularly popular,” she said.

She added the new bites can be used alone, or used in conjunction with other ingredients such as biscuit pieces and sauces. Pecan Deluxe can also blend a biscuit crumb into the piece to make a miniature cheesecake bite.

Since its launch in 1950 by J.C. Brigham, Pecan Deluxe has remained a family-owned company.

Today, it produces more than 1,500 products – such as flavoured fudges, moulded chocolate shapes, brownie pieces and praline nuts – made using only natural colours and flavourings at its BRC compliant facilities in the US, UK and Thailand.
