Kellogg Canada’s 2017 range reflects consumer health drive

Kellogg Canada is debuting a range of cereals and snacks following the recent multiproduct launch by its mother company in the US.

The line-up includes additional SKUs for brand such as Special K, All-Bran, Vector and Pringles.

The new products prominently feature visible ingredients like mixed nuts and real fruit pieces.

According to Chris Bell, VP of marketing, Kellogg Canada Inc., consumers are at the heart of everything the company does, and the new range reflects what they want when it comes to healthy and convenient products that have just that extra crunch and luxury.

The new range for 2017 includes:

•             Special K Nourish Popped Granola with Quinoa – Mixed Berries

•             Special K Nourish Popped Granola with Quinoa – Dark Chocolate Coconut

•             All-Bran Granola – Cranberry Almond

•             All-Bran Multi-Grain Crunch cereal

•             Special K Nourish with Quinoa Bars – Caramel, Sea Salt & Mixed Nuts

•             Special K Nourish with Quinoa Bars – Coconut Cashew & Dark Chocolate Chunks

Canadians on-the- go

BakeryAndSnacks recently reported that the on-the-go breakfast product market was enjoying healthy growth in North America, and Canadians are no less likely to follow suit.

Kellogg said Canadians are particularly fond of chunky granolas that make a statement. Again, the cereals feature large pieces of raisins, cranberries and almonds and can actually be eaten as a healthful snack any time of the day.

As such, Kellogg’s Special K has added two new granola varieties to its Nourish line, including Mixed Berries and Dark Chocolate Coconut, that feature popped quinoa, puffed rice, wheat and toasted oats.

Market research has found that fiber is considered an important component of a healthy breakfast these days and the new Cranberry Almond flavoured Kellogg’s All-Bran Granola offers breakfast lovers just that, while Kellogg’s All-Bran Multi-Grain Crunch cereal features 6 g of fiber per serving, including psyllium fiber that’s purported to be beneficial in lowering cholesterol.

Quinoa also features in Special K Nourish bars. The two new varieties — Coconut Cashew & Dark Chocolate and Caramel, Sea Salt & Mixed Nuts — are a source of nutrients, made with no artificial flavours or colours, and feature real, visible, on-trend ingredients such as quinoa and gluten-free oats.

Kellogg's Vector Protein bars in new Trail Mix flavour comprises a high protein mix of cranberries, sunflower seeds, flax seeds and peanuts, partially dipped in chocolate.

And finally, to celebrate Kellogg Canada’s 150th birthday, the company is launching ketchup flavored Pringles – an iconic taste of the country.
