ADM/Matsutani launches veggie ingredient that offers 70% fiber for snacks and cereals

The joint venture between two ingredient companies, ADM and Matsutani, have developed Fibersol-DLQ, which they claim is a solid corn syrup version of soluble corn fiber that offers approximately 75% soluble dietary fiber.

The new ingredient is an addition to ADM/Matsutani’s Fibersol profile of premier soluble vegetable fibers that are available in both powder and liquid forms, said the company.

“Fibersol-DLQ has been created in response to our customers’ needs,” ADM/Matsutani’s general manager, George Perujo, said.

Same advantages as other Fibersol products

“Fibersol-DLQ, like its liquid counterpart Fibersol-LQ, has been specifically designed for customers who want their products to make a fiber claim but do not require a higher percentage of fiber,” he said.

“This new product, still substantiated by the extensive bulk of scientific evidence that supports Fibersol, helps round out our product line. We will continue to gauge customer needs and expand our Fibersol portfolio according to those needs.”

In addition, the company said Fibersol-DLQ provides the same formulation advantages as the entire line of Fibersol products, including acid-, heat- and process-stability.

Fibersol-DLQ is slightly sweet, with neutral aromatics. It can be used in a variety of foods, including nutritional bars, snacks, confections and breakfast cereals.
