Starbucks Canada will be adding two Central Roast snacks to its menu in January.
The brand, now wholly owned by GreenSpace, is focused on creating functional, wholefood-based nutrition for Canadians, incorporating raw and roasted nuts, trail mixes, berries, seeds and even sweet treats.
Starbucks Canada will initially launch two Central Roast variants nationwide: Breakfast and Energy.
The items are aimed at the morning and afternoon crowd looking to grab a quick snack on the move. The company claim its products are made with natural ingredients, with no added fillers, artificial flavours or colours.
Making the most of mini meals
According to GreenSpace, this is aligned with ‘Snacking Nation 2016’ research published by Ipsos recently suggesting consumers are planning less meals and increasing their mini-meal occasions while on-the-go.
“The North American appetite for handy, individually wrapped snacks has been rising for years,” said Matthew von Teichman, president and CEO of GreenSpace.
“People want to eat cleaner foods while on the go. In our fast paced lifestyle, we often don’t have time to do that, but it’s something we’re trying to find a solution for every day.
“These new Central Roast offerings in Starbucks will give Canadian consumers one more option to eat something real while on the go.”
All natural
GreenSpace is a Canadian-based brand that develops, markets and sells natural food products to consumers across Canada. It finalised its acquisition of Central Roast in 2016, paying $7.5m over a three-year period.
Other brands in the GreenSpace stable include Rolling Meadow Dairy, Life Choices meat products, the Holistic Choice pet food line, Nudge and Love Child organic food for infants and toddlers.
Additional Central Roast items can be found in most grocery, health food and convenience stores across Canada.
