Zeelandia Technical Solutions (ZTS) - which develops, manufactures, sells and maintains bakery machines – is due to become part of the Everbake Group from mid-September.
The decision to sell was a direct result of a “strategic choice to be the leading company in quality bakery ingredients,” said Zeelandia, adding that ZTS did not fit in with this.
ZTS sells machinery under the brand names Zela and Zelamatic to bakeries around the world; while Everbake Group produces kit including conveyor belts, ovens and bakeware.
Everbake and Zeelandia partnerships
The businesses said they have worked together “for quite some time”, partnering to supply complete systems to bakeries. Everbake and Zeelandia plan to continue collaborating after the change of ZTS ownership, which they said would strengthen each other’s activities.
“The acquisition of ZTS would allow us to improve our position in the national and international bakery machinery industry, and would be an important basis for us to continue to grow our business,” said Everbake Group director Peter Eversdijk.
Everbake plans to take over all activities of ZTS and retain the current employees.
Dutch family-owned business
Zeelandia is a Dutch family-owned business that currently has 2,800 employees in 29 countries. Founded in 1900, it describes itself as having “over a century of experience developing innovative bakery ingredients, processes and marketing concepts”.
Earlier this year, BakeryandSnacks reported that the business had developed a blueberry muffin claimed to have around a third less sugar and less than half the fat of a regular muffin.
