Frito-Lay injects sweet-savory into Rold Gold brand

Frito-Lay has developed sweet dips and fillings for its typically savory Rold Gold pretzel and sandwich cracker brand.

The snack major has launched four variants - cookies & cream and fudge brownie pretzel dippers and sharp cheddar and creamy fudge pretzel sandwiches.

Ryan Matiyow, senior director of marketing at Frito-Lay, described the flavor combinations as “satisfying” and said the NPD targeted afternoon snackers.

The Rold Gold dipper line will launch in five-count boxes and single-serve the sandwich crackers in six-count boxes.
