The cereal major has added cranberries to increase the vitamin C, fiber and antioxidant content of Raisin Bran. Each serving contains five grams of fiber and provides an ‘excellent source’ of antioxidant vitamin E.
Kellogg said the NPD was in response to consumer feedback.
“People have been telling us that they are searching for breakfasts that contain more health benefits like antioxidants, and specifically would like to see cranberries in our cereals,” said Jeremy Harper, senior director of marketing for Kellogg’s Morning Foods.
The Raisin Bran with Cranberries product will roll out nationally this month, joining the current portfolio of Raisin Bran with omega-3 from flaxseed, as well as the original and crunch versions.
