Treofan installs Accolade software to realign its business processes

BOPP film manufacturer Treofan is implementing Accolade software, developed by Sopheon Corporation, as part of a realignment of its global processes, to go live within the next few weeks.

Peter Vanacker, CEO, Treofan, told FoodProductionDaily the software provides an efficient way of interlinking Treofan’s strategy, innovation pipeline, and individual project management together.

Bringing technology to market in less time

Projects are divided into different stages, each leading to a specific gate where decisions about the next stage are taken,” he said.

Accolade is a software tool for managing this kind of processes. It will help Treofan bring more focused, innovation to the market in less time.

It will also help the company focus its innovation resources in the most efficient and effective way.”

The company is currently training staff on the software and said it has invested a six-digit Euro figure on the project, but declined to say how much.

Sopheon claims Accolade has four key areas of enterprise innovation performance; Portfolio Optimization, Process & Project Management, Innovation Planning and Idea & Concept Development.

1 out of 3 products is a commercial failure

It claims companies invest large amounts of time, energy, resources, and capital to create products and bring them to market but nearly one out of every three products is a commercial failure, and added using a structured, automated process management can dramatically increase the likelihood of a product’s success.

There is a growing demand globally for sustainable, intelligent technology in the area of packaging,” said Vanacker.

We are convinced there are great opportunities for technologies and applications of our films.

The objective is to bring more innovation to the market at a faster rate. This will happen through a strategically managed innovation funnel, with each project starting from an identified customer need and leading to a marketable product, via a number of defined stage gates for re-evaluation and budget management.”

He said Treofan will build on its traditionally strong relations with players across the whole value chain, from raw material suppliers to converters to brand owners to implement its projects.

Treofan regards innovation as a process that is best approached in cooperation with relevant partners, and is doing so already in a number of different ways,” he said.
