The facility will house more than 200 employees and function as a distribution centre for the recycling, mining and food sorting businesses to supply Europe, The Americas, Africa and Asia.
Martin Hypky, local manager and operations director food, Tomra Sorting Solutions, said it was proud of the facility which includes its recently-released sorting machine, the Blizzard.
“The €10m investment not only provides us with a state-of-the-art production and distribution facility, it also provides much-improved work areas for our people as Tomra recognises its continued successes is down to the hard work and commitment of its employees,” he said.
Tomra creates sensor-based technology for reverse vending, compaction, recycling, mining, food and specialty products.
The opening was attended by Stefan Ranstrand, president/CEO, Tomra; Dr Volker Rehrmann, executive VP/head Tomra Sorting Solutions and Senec deputy mayor Jarmila Répássyová.
