The company has expanded the maximum width of Duraflex Edge from 60 to 156 inches to offer bakers a wider opening for easier sanitation, and a more efficient belt to splice for loaders and out-feeds on tunnel ovens, typically 120 to 156 inches wide.
Nicole Evans, brand manager, CES, said: “We’ve worked closely with our baking customers to see how we can better address the issues they face with using conveyor belts in tunnel ovens. The wider Duraflex Edge increases speed and capacity and decreases down time due to its longer belt life,”
CES says that previously bakers have had to use a hard to splice, flex-style belt or run three to four narrow belts side-by-side.
Skip Messick head engineer, CES said: “When tested against a competitor’s flex‐style belt, Duraflex Edge lasted up to 39 times longer without distortion or breakage.”
Duraflex Edge bends in both directions, eliminating friction and metal fatigue. It is self-cleaning, pushing food product residue out as the belt turns on the conveyor.
This means that production does not have to stop for cleaning. The belt has a 30-second splicing time to reduce maintenance and increase carrying capacity.
CES recently announced that belts manufactured at its plants are the first in the industry to be Halal certified.
