Danish plastic packaging firm RPC Superfos has launched its SuperLock barrier packaging in the UK.

RPC Blackburn will now supply SuperLock containers, which combine an oxygen barrier with a membrane seal for low oxygen transmission rates.

Dave Pratt, sales manager, RPC, said: “SuperLock has already proved successful throughout mainland Europe and we are delighted to be able to add it to our portfolio to bring the same benefits to our UK customers.”

Headquartered in Denmark, RPC Superfos has nine production facilities and 16 distribution centres in Europe.

The company has won five international awards for its Superlock packaging including one at the Salon Emballage awards 2012 in the consumer goods section.

Superlock packs are suitable for both hot and cold filling and can be sterilized for product pasteurization.

They have a shelf life of up to 24 months and are microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe.

SuperLock comes in sizes ranging from 65 to 535ml and specific designs can be created for the in-mould label, which incorporates the barrier.
