Printpack is gearing up for the grand opening of its larger, updated packaging production plant in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Replacing its older facility nearby, the 203,400-square-foot facility (which reportedly is home to an arsenal of state-of-the-art packaging lines and machinery) is designed to support company efforts to step up production and efficiency.
Packaging community
Printpack chair and CEO Dennis Love told FoodProductionDaily the company chose to remain in the area close to its previous facility, instead of moving, to remain connected with the community and labor pool.
“Printpack has been pleased to be a part of the Rhinelander community for over 25 years, and we are excited about the new investment we are making there,” he said. “This major commitment will provide our Rhinelander associates with the best technology available in our industry and put us on a path to continued success for years to come.”
Facility funding
The construction of Printpack’s larger, updated packaging plant was made possible with government backing. The packaging producer turned to the Wisconsin governor’s office, and representatives from local development outfits (including the Oneida County Economic Development Corp., and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.) to obtain funding for the project.
Printpack officials are putting the finishing touches on the factory for a grand opening on August 1. The company reportedly has extended invitations to state and local dignitaries, such as Governor Scott Walker, Rhinelander Mayor Richard Johns, and other officials.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 am, the plant will be open to the public for tours until 1 pm.
