Videojet Technologies has launched Project Management Services, intended to minimize the amount of time a food packaging operation has to spend on deploying and integrating coding and marking equipment for traceability facilitation. The program employs the company’s trained project managers to step in and ensure staffers unfamiliar with the equipment and technology end up with a trouble-free startup and operation.
Support program
Randy Kaiser, Videojet Technologies project manager, told FoodProductionDaily food packaging and processing staff shouldn’t get service from coding and marking suppliers that ends at the equipment purchase.
“Acquisition is just the beginning of any large project; deployment is the key,” he said. “Complex installations require hands-on expertise in system integration and project execution.”
Hands-on assistance
According to the company, having access to a hands-on project manager on a complex project (on a large operation, one with multiple sites, etc.) can make the difference between a rough start, and smooth integration. The Project Management Services program also is designed to minimize the number of in-house employees required to integrate such equipment and get the ball rolling.
The Videojet Technologies service provides a project manager to keep all the relevant in-house staff fully briefed on management, operations, maintenance, quality, and safety during installation and deployment. They start with a pre-install onsite visit, to gauge the existing workflow and environment.
The company also offers a secure cloud-based portal for customers to tap into timelines, status, Safety Data Sheet information, and other relevant information. Videojet Technologies also can provide in-depth onsite training to get operators up to speed on the recently installed equipment, as well as helpful techniques and tools.
