Hardbite Chips goes non-GMO on select snacks

Naturally Homegrown Foods’ Hardbite Chips brand has received non-GMO verification on two products, with the rest of the portfolio soon to follow, its CEO says.

Hardbite’s all natural chips and lightly salted parsnip varieties have been verified by the Non-GMO Project. The company has claimed the non-GMO shift marks a first for a Canadian potato chip company.

Kirk Homenick, president of Naturally Homegrown Foods, said the verification responded to “very real” concerns about GMOs.

He said the company had started work on getting the rest of the Hardbite line verified.
