The firm won a tender process to supply Cook for CPET trays which feature dual ovenability and a temperature tolerance from -4F (-20c) degrees to 430F (220c) degrees, for freezer-to-oven or microwave convenience.
Natasha Byng-Maddick, Faerch Plast’s key accounts and sales manager GB (South), said: “They have always been happier with dual supply but extensive testing on our Frost CPET to reduce tray breakages and the opening of our plant in the North West offered peace of mind that we could meet all their capacity and quality requirements.”
Tony Mayer, head of operational procurement at Cook said the fact that the trays are manufactured in Durham with flexible turnaround times was an influencing factor.
“Although we have used Faerch Plast for over 12 years, it wasn’t until they developed the Frost CPET specifically for frozen meal concepts that we could consider moving more of the CPET business across.
“The contract with our previous supplier came to an end last year so we invited other packaging companies to submit tenders.”
