PACK EXPO plays matchmaker for food firms and contract packagers

The annual packaging exposition is adding a resource center to match up food and beverage companies with the right contract packaging connections.

PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, is launching the Contract Packaging Association Sourcing Center to PACK EXPO International (scheduled November 2-5 in Chicago). The event feature will reportedly provide a showcase for contract packagers, and expert advice for professionals in food, beverages, and other markets looking to build contract packaging connections.

Packaging resource

Charles Yuska, president and CEO of PMMI, told FoodProductionDaily the Center will be a highly useful resource to food and beverage industry members looking to engage a contract packaging firm’s services, or just answer a few questions.

In addition to the CPA members who will exhibit there, the Contract Packaging Association Sourcing Center will feature a display of innovative packages alongside experts who can speak to the benefits of using contract packagers,” he said.

In addition to PACK EXPO International, PMMI is producing Pharma EXPO. The collocated events reportedly are expected to draw approximately 50,000 attendees, showcase 2,000 exhibitors, and stretch across 1.1m square feet of exhibit space.

Business connections

CPA president Chris Nutley said the creation of the center is a business-building opportunity for food firms and packaging companies alike.

PACK EXPO consistently attracts top-level brands and buyers, and they are the target market for our messages about the role contract packagers can play,” he said. “This gives us a chance to present a full spectrum of contract packaging solutions and knowledge at the most comprehensive packaging and processing trade show in North America this year.”
