Provisur Technologies (based in Mokena, Illinois) produces various types of food processing equipment, such as grinders, mixers, formers, slicers, and separation machines. Its brands, distributed in 90 countries, include AM2C, Beehive, Cashin, Formax, TST and Weiler.
Scanico, a Denmark-based manufacturer, specializes in industrial-scale food freezing equipment. Founder Holger Colding formed his first company in 1972 and has focused on freezing technology for food environments for the past quarter century. Formerly the Freezer Division of Scanima A/S, Scanico was set out as a separate company in 2009.
Equipment expansion
With this partnership, Provisur Technologies adds to its stable of processing equipment a broader range of freezing machines than before, including spiral and impingement freezing units.
Brian Perkins, vice president of global product management for Provisur Technologies, said the joint arrangement brings Provisur one step closer to being a one-stop resources for food processing systems.
“Scanico's freezing technology solutions, which already benefit millions of consumers around the world, will now be available through Provisur Technologies’ product portfolio,” he said.
Greater freezing reach
Lars Colding, managing director for Scanico, said the agreement with Provisur will make the company’s freezing technology available to more customers than before.
“As Provisur's partner in freezing technology, our combined processing and freezing expertise now has the ability to benefit many more processors throughout the world,” he said.
Precise terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
