Pumped! Alfa Laval wins Frost & Sullivan award

Alfa Laval has won a Frost & Sullivan 2013 Company of the Year Award in the European pumps market for the food & beverage industry.

The award is part of Frost & Sullivan’s GIL (Growth, Innovation & Leadership) 2013: Europe event part of its Global Alliance Partners Program celebrating global organisations that drive growth and innovation.

It recognised Alfa Laval for its ‘one-stop shop’ and broadening pump portfolio and for its ability to address core market challenges, while continuously improving and enhancing its products.

Russell Jones, global portfolio manager, pumps, Alfa Laval told FoodProductionDaily.com the firm was honoured to win the award and will pick up its prize at a banquet dinner on May 14, in London.

Frost & Sullivan said Alfa Laval had an exceptional pump portfolio with products capable of meeting industry needs, including itsLKH PF centrifugal pump, which was recently upgraded to meet increased demand for nanofiltration and reverse osmosis filtration installations.

The LKH Evap centrifugal pump, for industry growth in evaporation applications and the SCPP positive displacement pump, which improves pump efficiency when transporting lower viscosity liquids at high discharge pressures.

The awards jury benchmarked Alfa Laval’s performance against its competitors in five key areas: exceptional growth strategy and implementation, innovative product technologies, dedicated customer focus, enhanced customer value and market leadership.

A spokesman for Frost & Sullivan said Alfa Laval is the only company to win an award from the food industry and the full list of winners will be announced on May 14.

There were 19 categories in total including: the European Personal Care Active Ingredients Company of the Year Award; European Multiscale Dataflow Computing Technology Innovation Leadership Award and European Energy Storage Company of the Year Award.
