InterFlex to open $10.2m food packaging plant

The InterFlex Group, a company that specializes in packaging products for food applications, is expanding production at its primary plant.

Located in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, InterFlex has announced it plans to step up operations at its main facility. The expansion reportedly will add 63 new jobs and invest more than $10.2m over the course of three years.

Jeff Zeber, senior vice president of InterFlex, said the company has been a “corporate citizen” of Wilkesboro for more than three decades.

The efforts of the local and state governmental agencies to support the further long-term growth and development of our business were instrumental in our decision to expand our operations in Wilkesboro,” he said.

The expansion was facilitated by funding from the One North Carolina Fund, a performance-based grant program. The fund is offering InterFlex up to $180,000 in financial support.

InterFlex producers a range of specialty fresh and packaged foods products. Its offerings include shrink films, stand-up pouches, barrier and non-barrier film laminations and thermoformed packaging.
