JBT FoodTech freezes competition with mid-range capacity launches
The GYRoCOMPACT 600 Classic Europe and 700 Classic Europe freezers are an expansion on the firm’s Frigoscandia line.
The GYRoCOMPACT 600 Classic Europe model can freeze up to 1.8 tonnes per hour of par-fried chicken nuggets, and up to 2 tonnes per hour of croissants.
JBT FoodTech said the freezers were available now with the 700 version able to be shipped by the end of the year.
Freezing capability
The 700 Classic Europe model can freeze up to 2.2 tonnes per hour of par-fried chicken, and up to 2.4 tonnes of croissants.
The Classic freezers are based on the standard Frigoscandia GYRoCOMPACT M6 and M7 spiral freezers which have been available for more than 10 years.
JBT FoodTech has also established a Central European supply chain in the Czech Republic, the country where the machines are manufactured, a move from the traditional place of Sweden.
Barry Jackson, JBT FoodTech’s UK regional sales manager, said line flexibility and number of changeovers was behind the demand for mid-range capacities.
“Smaller companies that have grown are looking to consolidate in the marketplace so need flexibility in their lines for product changeovers,” he told FoodProductionDaily.com.
“It is different in the States, where the large firms have metre wide belts and one product so there are not so many changeovers.
“Everybody is being squeezed in terms of their customers and it comes down to consumers, so we are being more cost-competitive and responding to the market to help.”
Product suitability
He added that the freezers are suitable for a range of products including ready meals and ready to eat foods where hygiene is vital.
GYRoCOMPACT 600 and 700 Classic Europe freezers have a smaller footprint than their M6 and M7 freezer counterparts and have three, instead of four, floor sections.
The GYRoCOMPACT 600 Classic Europe freezer has a 600mm wide belt and either 24 or 34 tiers.
The GYRoCOMPACT 700 Classic Europe freezer has a 700mm wide belt and 35 tiers.
Both models feature a control panel and a choice of two automated foaming and rinsing cleaning systems.
