Avery Dennison Corp. has introduced four new facestocks with a bleached glassine (BG) liner to its Prime Film Portfolio of bi-axially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films.

The Prime Film Portfolio is an engineered line of films specially created for the specific marketing and containers of food products, beverages and other consumer goods. All of the products in the line are constructed with the company’s S7000 adhesive, which reportedly delivers excellent clarity, conformability and productivity for high-speed converting.

Quality packaging

Paul Purdef, films product manager in North America for Avery Dennison, said the adhesive offers food packaging applications a high level of quality that is enhanced with the specialized liner.

Our S7000 adhesive has shown customers the increased productivity and performance it delivers through hundreds of print runs and billions of square inches,” he said. “By adding a BG liner, we are able to offer customers more options while still delivering operational improvements.”

Adhesive advantage

According to the manufacturer, the Prime Film Portfolio films offer food firms and their packaging partners excellent converting and dispensing performance. Additionally, the adhesive is said to deliver 50% less ooze than competitive products, reducing adhesive contamination and clean-up.

The new films, available in white, clear and metalized options, are said to be especially suited for rigid containers. The films feature a range of properties that are said to eliminate darts and wrinkles in high-speed dispensing environments and challenging packaging formats which helps deliver greater shelf and brand appeal.
