Total Packaging has increased its folding carton manufacturing capacity with two new production lines from BOBST that will help it cope with increased sales.

The firm purchased a Novacut 106 E die-cutter and Expertfold 80 folder-gluer, the company's first equipment from BOBST.

Based in the Netherlands, Total Packaging produces packaging of folding cartons and rigid boxes to vacuum formed blisters and transparent tubes.

Ewald Bleeker, managing director of Total Packaging, said: "We needed to grow our manufacturing capacity for folding cartons quickly to meet increased demand for our products."

The Novacut 106 E features a double cam gripper bar advance system which lowers the stress on the sheet and means that fewer nicks are needed, resulting in better quality of the final carton, at higher speeds than can be achieved with other types of die-cutter.

The Expertfold 80 folder-gluer can process thousands of different straight-line, crash-lock and 4/6 corner box styles, with the aim of adding capacity and capability to Total Packaging's production.
