In an interview with FoodProductionDaily.com, Domino Amjet director of product management Adem Kulauzovic said the printer can print on a broad range of container and secondary packaging surfaces. It bears an International Protection (IP) rating of IP55, which means it is able to withstand most environments and washdown areas.
“We also have a wide range of inks that can withstand various processes, like retort, alkali wash, alcohol and water,” he added.
Performance concerns
Kulauzovic said that A420i is especially suited to the processing professional’s ever-increasing concerns regarding efficiency and reliability.
“In today’s industrial society, people are running more efficient and cannot afford extended downtime due to printer maintenance or service,” he said.
Technology traits
The printer is intended to minimize preventative maintenance—only consumables need to be replaced to keep it running, according to Kulauzovic. The Qube consumable module is said to be easy to replace, require only 10 minutes to change and last as long as one year.
The A420i offers a range of features intended to help optimize efficiency and ease of use, while reducing operation cost and waste.
- The i-Tech solvent management and recovery system is designed to make efficient use of fluid.
- The nozzle-sealing technology facilitates single-button start-up, even after extended shutdowns.
- The company’s CleanFill cartridges can be changed on the fly
