Processor partners with cold-storage firm on Oregon site

Henningsen Cold Storage and NORPAC Foods are constructing a 260,000-sq.-ft frozen food storage and distribution facility in Salem, OR.

According to company representatives, the development (to be built on land owned by NORPAC) will enable the food company to save time and expenses by enabling it to move product directly from an adjacent fruit/veg processing operation, into cold storage.

NORPAC is a collective of farmers joined together to produce and distribute a number of food products. The outfit produces a total of about 600m lbs of food annually.

Henningsen Cold Storage is one of the largest U.s. refrigerated logistics firms; its properties include more than 42 million cubic feet of multi-temperature controlled storage across the country.
