Food companies should be cautious about when and how they talk about salt reduction, according to Euromonitor International's global head of health and wellness research Ewa Hudson.

Many consumers think 'low salt' means that a product is less tasty, Hudson says. However, it is possible to create low-salt foods that also appeal to consumer desire for tastiness by highlighting full-flavour ingredients like herbs and spices front-of-pack.
