The São Paulo facility will produce packaging with resealable closures to customers in Brazil, Argentina and Chile by the start of 2013.
The US-based firm said the site will reduce lead times and environmental footprint because of shorter shipping distances and expand technical and consulting services for customers.
Closer to customers
Zip-Pak said the facility will enable it to provide better machinery service by having field technical representatives in the region to visit customers’ plants and ensure smooth operations and alleviate maintenance issues.
“As the only zipper supplier with an in-house equipment division the engineering team can develop custom retrofit packaging systems that ease the transition to consumer-preferred resealable flexible formats without significant capital investments,” the company added.
The resealable packaging solutions manufacturer is an Illinois Tool Works (ITW) company headquartered in Manteno, Illinois.
Its brands include Slider, Press-to-Close and Perfcap resealable packaging, produced from six production facilities worldwide, serving 52 countries.

"We are excited to initiate local production and warehousing operations that will support the local economy while enhancing Latin American customer's experiences with our proven brand of resealable solutions.
