GEA completes Aseptomag takeover

GEA’s strategy to expand its sterile and aseptic offerings has been given a boost after it confirmed the completion of the acquisition of Swiss valve specialists Aseptomag.

Aseptomag is s a global leader in the supply of aseptic and hygienic valves, valve modules, and system solutions to dairy, beverage and food processors, said GEA.

The Swiss company, headquartered in Kirchberg, has a workforce of 35 and posted revenues reaching CHF 19.5m (€16m) in 2011. As well as serving the food sectors, it also supplies into the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

GEA said its new asset would be integrated into its Mechanical Equipment Segment during the second quarter of 2012.
